I have been an interpreter for 40 years and a teacher for 15 years. I am currently working on a PhD in interpreting, supervised by by Franc Amadieu  and Florence Encreve.

In my research I identify expert strategies and try to see if they can be passed on to trainee interpreters. I have compiled a corpus of 25 interpretations of the same technical conference (15 mn). After identifying the cognitive obstacles in the conference, I identified the strategies used by experts that beginners do not use. For my latest data collection, I am testing the ability of interpreting students at three universities—Toulouse, Paris, and HWU—to learn expert strategies.
