My book project is based on an international, mixed methods research project that investigated interview collections with 25 deaf or hard-of-hearing (DHH) faculty members, and 19 DHH university students, in addition to survey collections with 57 DHH faculty members and 104 university students worldwide. This book reports on their experiences of accessibility at their current, former, and alumni universities and makes recommendations based on the findings. The book serves as a resource for DHH faculty members, researchers, students, and academic interpreters, as well as university administrators and disability service directors who are looking to improve disability provision at their institutions.
My research project was sponsored by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Grants-in-Aid for Young Scientific Research. (Grant Number: 21K13457; Grant Amount: 4,550,000YEN; Project Name: “The Contribution of Deaf Faculty in Higher Education: A Mixed Methods Study”).
The book: “Enhancing the Role of Deaf Faculty Members in Higher Education: An International Comparison (2024)”
